I know there's lots of things being said about BUSA indoors on 4th March, so this email is to clear up any confusion and make everyone aware of what is going on

At the moment we are not down on the target lists for BUSA, and as such are unable to compete.

For those of you interested in the details read on below:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our entries for BUSA indoors were due in on Thurs 2nd February. Me and Owen sat up late into Wednesday night classifying everyone and entering it all onto the nomination forms. I took the forms into Bev (AU president) on the Thursday morning and she says they were sent off that day with a set of other BUSA entries.

When the target lists were released on the 21st, there were no Swansea entries anywhere on them. I emailed BUSA who replied to say they never received an entry from Swansea. I then went the next morning to see Bev who has since been in touch with BUSA, but they are enforcing the ruling that there can be no changes whatsoever to the target lists once entries are closed (i.e. no late entries or substitutions of any kind).

I am fairly confident that the Bev has done her job and sent the forms in on time. They were apparently faxed in the same bundle as surfing entries, and I am told surfing have had there entries confirmed. Unfortunately we don't keep fax confirmation sheets, so we have no proof it was sent. The main possibilities are that there may have been a problem with the payment, though this isn't what BUSA were saying in their email I had, or most likely BUSA have lost or messed up our entry.

We are being told that even though we sent our forms off on time, we are not going to be allowed to shoot in the competition. One of the comments that was said to Bev is that the event was over-subscribed, although looking at the target lists they are not full (Exeter can in theory take 456, and there are 397 allocated to targets)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we get any updates I will pass it on, but at the moment it is looking less and less likely we will be able to compete down at Exeter. If all else fails we can always go elsewhere, but I am saving that as a last resort.

If anyone cares to join us, we (the committee) will be meeting on Saturday, during of more likely after the session in JC's to discuss where we are up to, and what we're going to do.

On a lighter note, the social was very successful yesterday, according to my lists 3 people managed to complete the "What's in a name" challenge. Photos now up online, www.swan.ac.uk/AU/archery
