So, here's the official word.

We've been nominated for 5 awards.  Which I think is pertty tidy.

See those of you performing Wednesday and everyone else at the ceremony!

Dear Societies

The Nominations for the Society Awards 2004 are out now! 

We are also looking to give out 'Outstanding Individual Contribution'
awards. If there is someone in your society that has made an outstanding
contribution to your societies success, on the committee or just as a
member, you must let us know. Email back within the next week to
susdo at swan.ac.uk <mailto:susdo at swan.ac.uk> . It would be useful if you could
attempt to write the report like a reference explaining why they have been
so good,  but no more than 200 words. Please could you also add a contact
number so I can phone you back for more information! 

The ceremony will be on the 4th May 2004 at the Grand Theatre Arts Wing.
Tickets are on sale now for £5 which includes a buffet!

Most consistent -has provided regular activities consistently throughout the
year for the enjoyment of the majority of the society.

Best variety of events - has provided its membership with high quality and
varied event to the enjoyment of its members.

Most Innovative - has strived to develop society, pioneering into new ground
and achieving this in an entrepreneurial and innovative way.

Best Publicity - in regard to a particular event or the society in general.

Best New Society - has developed to a high standard having started up since
March 2003.

Most Improved - has shown remarkable improvement in contrast to the previous
academic year.

Best Social Event - created a well publicised and well attended social event
using creativity and effort

7.	Malaysian

Best Educational Event - has educated its membership body effectively in
regards to it subject area at a well attended and well publicised event.

4.	RAG - Fire Walk for World Aids Day


Best society - has performed consistently throughout the year building on
past successes, taking risks and providing its members with a variety of
high standard, well attended events or activities.

Most supportive - has made an invaluable contribution to a group within the
community by providing supportive, friendly and welcoming activities.

5.	Multi-cultural - Black Heritage 

Best Website - has used the website to communicate effectively with its
members, keeping it up to date throughout the year and is user friendly.

Best Corporative Link - the working together with other societies or union
departments to produce a successful event, working happily together and
finalising all transaction successfully and amicable.
