Greetings!

Are we all enjoying the lovely cold weather? Winter has definately arrived in Swansea, but don't let that stop you getting out there this week!

This Sunday November 14th is another outing to the Brecon Beacons, to Fan Fawr. This is a B/C grade walk, with a decent climb at the start, but once you've managed that its a bit more easy-going for the rest of the way. Great views across the Brecons, particularly of Pen-y-Fan, which is just across the valley, make this walk well worth £3.50.

Next week, we have our first night hike of the year. On Tuesday November 16th we're off to see the Gower at night, as we climb to the top of Cefn Bryn. This may be an easy A walk, but its amazing what a bit of darkness can do, particularly for navigation... A mere £2 for a fab evening under the stars! Sign up this week at the usual times, and meet in JC's at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Before the night hike, come along to JC's at 6.00pm to sign up for the next weekend away to Cheddar Gorge (Friday 26th to Sunday 28th November). Costing £25, this is an A/B graded weekend, so no excuses if you're not as energetic as you'd like! This new arrival to the walks calendar promises to be a fun, relaxing weekend in the Mendip Hills in Somerset.

Also, a reminder to get your tickets for the Hiking Club annual Christmas Dinner NOW as we have to know numbers asap. The deadline for sales is November 29th. Tickets are £17.50 for members and £20 for non-members, including coach travel there and back, full three course meal and disco to finish off the evening! So get your ticket, dust off your suit (or posh dress!) and make sure you keep December 6th free!

The deadline for t-shirt designs is also November 29th, so keep thinking, but make sure you get those ideas down on paper and hand in to a committee member before then!

I think that's about all for now, and certainly enough for one email!
Have fun
Sarah :)
