Hello everyone!

I hope that everyone who came on the weekend away enjoyed it as much as me!

This Sunday we're off to Pembrokeshire for a grade B1 walk from Freshwater to Penally near Tenby, the Saturday after (6th November) we're off to Carrag Cennen on the northwest edge of the Brecon Beacons (grade TBC), both walks will be £5, please come along and signup for a walk as soon as you know you would like to go. This helps us to judge in advance what size bus to book.
Everyone planning to come this Sunday please note that the clocks go back one hour on Saturday night... which means an extra hour in bed.... wooohooo! If you forget you'll be an hour early and no one will be there ;)

Tuesday 2nd November we will be doing a circular night hike on Cefn Bryn!... well an evening hike really! Meet in JCs at 6pm, the walk will only cost £2.50 and we should be back about 11pm ish. Bring a torch if you have one. If you have a car and would be happy to drive yourself and a few other hikers to the Gower then this will be FREE and we'll give you a few quid for your fuel.

This Wednesday is our first year rep elections. We're looking for 3 enthusiastic people - 2 first year reps and one
international rep- to join the committee and help make all our walks
and events awesome. First year rep positions are open to anyone who is
in their first year in the hiking club and it does not
necessarily have to be your first year in uni, the international rep
position is open to any student who's home university is abroad and is
studying in Swansea on an exchange year or similar scheme. All we ask
of the reps is that you attend our weekly committee meetings to discuss
and plan our events, although if you would like to become even more
involved with the day to day running of the club then you would be very
welcome to do so. This could be anything from learning how to maintain
our website to planning our walks.
We will be holding our Rep elections in 'No Sign bar' on Windstreet, meet us there at 7pm or 6.55pm in Castle square if you don't know where No Sign Bar is and we'll take you there!
If you would like to stand for
either of these positions come along on Wednesday or
come and speak to a committee member. At the election we will ask each
prospective rep to give a short speech to the rest of the group - just
a few words to introduce yourself and say why you'd like to be a first
year / international rep, all prospective reps will then be temporarily
asked to leave the room whilst the rest of the club votes.
Even if
you do not wish to be a rep please show your support by coming along to
vote! After wards we'll be visiting a few pubs on Windstreet and eventually to AU
night in Play.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday!

Chris
