Hello everyone,<br><br>I hope you have all had a good summer and are all looking forward to getting back into your climbing!<br><br>This year you will be able to join SUMC online via the AU membership page. Once you join the AU online, there will be an option to join the sports clubs within it. This is the first year that the AU will have run online club membership so not all clubs will be using it and there may be some teething problems.<br>
<br>Although the option of online club membership will be available, could I please ask that instead of paying online to join SUMC, you <b>come and see us at freshers' fayre</b> as a problem has been raised about when clubs will get the membership fees into their accounts. If you have already joined online then don't worry about it. Hopefully this problem will be sorted for next year. Obviously, if you are unable to make freshers' fayre then please join online. Don't forget that you need to have a valid AU membership before you can join SUMC.<br>
<br>Please note that at the AGM at the end of last year it was voted that membership fees for all SUMC members (new and returning) will now be <b>£15 per year</b>. This issue was debated for a long time and it wasn't an easy decision to come to. If you have any questions, just send us an email or come and have a chat to us at freshers' fayre. <br>
<br>Remember that when you join SUMC for just £15 you get free use of all club gear, free instruction from experienced members, substantially discounted entry rates at Dynamic Rock climbing centre and BMC insurance (including a 10% BMC discount in hundreds of shops around the UK) as well as all the great social aspects.<br>
