Cofiwch na fydd Pwyllgor Gwobrau'r UM yn beirniadu'r enillydd yn seiliedig ar y nifer o geisiadau ond yn beirniadu ar ansawdd y ceisiadau. Felly, gwnewch yn siŵr eich bod yn cynnwys llawer o wybodaeth am pam mae’r gymdeithas / grŵp / unigolyn gwir yn haeddu'r wobr!
Ceir gwybodaeth am bob categori gwobr gan gynnwys meini prawf enwebu ar y ffurflen enwebu.
Hefyd, peidiwch ag enwebu unrhyw staff UM llawn-amser neu swyddogion llawn-amser ar gyfer gwobrau. Rydym yn cael eu talu i wneud ein gwaith ac yn methu ennill yn anffodus!

Ymunwch â ni ar ddydd Llun pan fyddwn yn partio gyda chi cyn eich arholiadau a dathlu pa mor anhygoel mae’r cymdeithasau! Mae Digwyddiadau Myfyrwyr Abertawe wedi cynnig i ni'r cyfle i Gymdeithasau gymryd drosodd y Chwarter Bar, VIP ar gyfer Pwyllgorau Cymdeithas AC ar gyfer bob tocyn £3 bob fy mod i a Tom yn gwerthu i chi, rydym yn cael £ 1 yn ôl i fynd i'r Gwobrau UM!
Felly'r cynllun yw cyfarfod yn JCS am 7 o'r gloch i roi cynnig ar eu coctels a mocktails newydd! Yna byddwn yn mynd i Oceana a chymryd dros y Chwarter Bar. Gall pobl yna symud i lawr y grisiau, lle bu’r pwyllgorau yn cael VIP!
Mae hyn yn agored i bwyllgorau Gymdeithas Ac eich aelodau! Nid yw hyn yn ddigwyddiad pwyllgor yn unig, a hoffwn weld nifer ohonoch chi yno. Y mwy o aelodau eich bod yn cael i fynychu, y mwyaf o arian sydd gennym i'w wario ar wneud y Gwobrau’r UM yn ffantastig!

Ymunwch â ni ddydd Iau nesaf i drafod dyfodol cymdeithasau elusen yn UM Abertawe. Byddwn yn meddwl am berthnasedd RAG, boed yn dda cael cymdeithasau elusennol eraill a sut orau y gallwn godi arian y flwyddyn nesaf!

Pecynnau Cofrestru: Wrth i chi cwblhau eich etholiad, mae'n rhaid i'r pwyllgor newydd gwblhau a llofnodi’r Pecyn Cofrestru 2012-2013, a dychwelyd y ffurflen i Rosie erbyn 24ain o Fai 2012. Rydym wedi atodi copi o'r pecyn, ond gallwch hefyd gael copi papur gan Rosie yn y Swyddfa Dylunio, Digwyddiadau a Chymdeithasau Swyddfa (lefel 3, Tŷ’r Undeb).

- Trosglwyddo: Yn ogystal â sicrhau bod y pwyllgor newydd yn llenwi i mewn ac yn dychwelyd eu Pecyn Cofrestru, mae’n hefyd yn hanfodol bod y pwyllgor presennol yn cwblhau trosglwyddo i'r pwyllgor newydd. Gall hyn fod mor sylfaenol neu mor gymhleth fel y mae eich cymdeithas yn dymuno iddi fod.
Mae'n bwysig iawn i ddewis dyddiad sy'n gyfleus ar gyfer pwyllgorau hen a newydd pan fydd y pwyllgor newydd yn cymryd dros redeg y gymdeithas. Rhowch wybod i Rosie pryd fydd y pwyllgor newydd yn dechrau.
Hyfforddiant: Gwnewch yn siŵr bod eich pwyllgor newydd yn ymwybodol y bydd hyfforddiant cymdeithasau yn digwydd ar ddydd Iau 7fed o Fehefin, 2012 yn y bore. Mae hyfforddiant yn orfodol!

· SU Awards: Nominations are open for you to nominate your favourite societies/campaigners/events etc for the coveted SU Awards 2012!!

The awards up for grabs this year are:
* Best Student-led Campaign
* Outstanding Contribution to Student Politics
* Student Staff Member of the Year
* Outstanding Contribution to Student Media
* Best Student-led Event
* Best New Society
* Most Improved Society
* Community Engagement Award
* Society of the Year
* The SU Innovation & Enterprise Award
* SU Individual Contribution Awards
* The Ben Lockwood Award
Remember that the SU Awards Committee will not be judging the winner based on number of applications but we will be judging on quality of applications. Make sure you include lots of information about why the society/group/individual really deserves the award!
There is information about each award category including nomination criteria on the nomination form.
Additionally, please do not nominate SU full-time staff or full-time officers for awards. We get paid to do our jobs and can’t win unfortunately!
Nominations close at 4pm on 14th May.

Join us on Monday when we party with you pre-exams and celebrate how amazing societies are! Student Swansea Events have offered us a Societies take-over of Bar Quarter, VIP for Society Committees AND for every £3 ticket Tom and I sell to you, we get £1 back to go to the SU Awards!!!
So the plan is to meet in JCs at 7pm to try out their new cocktails and mocktails! We will then go to Oceana and take over the Bar Quarter. People can then move downstairs where you will get committee VIP!
This is open to Society committees AND your members! This isn’t a committee-only event and we would love to see loads of you there. The more members that you get to attend, the more money we have to spend on making the SU Awards a-mazing!

· SU Charity Societies Consultation:
Thursday 3rd May, 7pm – James Callaghan Lecture Theatre (in the basement of James Callaghan building).

Join us next Thursday to discuss the future of charity societies in Swansea SU. We will be thinking about the relevance of RAG, whether it is good having other charity societies and how we can best fundraise lots next year!

· Committee Elections & Handover:
- Elections: Please find attached a guidance document that Tom has prepared to assist you with running your society election. If you have further queries please contact Tom on <mailto:societiesandservices at swansea-union.co.uk> societiesandservices at swansea-union.co.uk.
- Registration Packs: Once you have completed your election, the new committee must sign and complete the 2012-13 Registration Pack, and return this to Rosie by 24th May 2012. We have attached a copy of the pack but you can also get a paper copy from Rosie in the Events, Design and Societies Office (level 3, Union House).
- Handover: As well as ensuring the new committee fills-in and returns their Registration Pack, it is also essential that the existing committee completes a handover to the new committee. This can be as basic or as complicated as your society wants it to be.
It is really important to select a date that is convenient for old and new committees when the new committee will take over running the society. Please let Rosie know when the new committee is starting.
- Training: Societies training for new committees takes place in the morning on Thursday 7th June. This is compulsory training for all committees for 2012/2013.
