[All-societies] Societies & Full-Time Officer Elections

Good evening to all societies!! 

 

As you may or may not have noticed, SU Full-Time Officer Elections are upon
us! 

 

This is a reminder to all committees that is it against the rules of the SU
Elections for any society to actively campaign for candidates in the
election. If this does happen the candidate in question will be questioned
by the Returning Officers about their campaign, so it may in fact hinder the
candidate's campaign if your society supports them. 

 

However if you do want to get involved with elections, PLEASE help promote
the elections themselves and encourage your friends, housemates, society
members and course mates to read the manifestos and to vote. All the
necessary information is available at

www.swansea-union.co.uk/elections2012. For those of you who are too busy (or
can't be bothered!) to write something for your members, we have prepared
the following message for you to email to your members. You can also use the
attached poster as your profile pic! 

 

 

"It is Students' Union election week! This year there are seven positions up
for election:

 

-          President

-          Sports Officer

-          Societies & Services Officer

-          Women's Officer

-          Education Officer

-          Welfare Officer

-          International Officer

 

It is vital that you as our members have a read of the candidates'
manifestos, think about what they are pledging to do for you and then make
sure you vote on either Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd March
between 8am-8pm online on the elections website (

The Full-Time Officer team make very important decisions and run campaigns
for you - don't miss out on your opportunity to have your voice heard!"
