Hi guys!
hope you've all had a good weekend. If you came to the Peaks, hope you enjoyed it, and if you were at home, I hope you had fun too (though you can't have had as much fun as we did!!!)
Ok, so this week were heading off to the Brecon Beacons for the first time this year, for the challenging but enjoyable Fan Fawr. Originally a C walk, there will be the opportunity for two walks, with one being a slightly shorter and less difficult B grade walk. So, if you don't think you're up to C standards, never fear, you can still enjoy the beauty of the Brecons without killing yourself in the process! Just tell us at the sign up which one you want to do. This walk will cost no more than £3.50 (may be less if we have a minibus). The Clyne/Mumbles pick up is now a request stop, so if you want to be picked up there let us know at a sign up. Otherwise we won't stop there. All other pick ups as usual.
Also this week, the amazing spectacle that is <drum roll...> the First Year rep elections!!!! This is YOUR chance to be involved and have your say. As a first year rep you will 'float' on the committee for the next few months, and get an idea of how the club is run (very efficiently, of course!) and what the various committee positions are responsible for. It isn't as scary as it sounds, you won't have to take on any reponsibilities (unless you want to), and you don't even have to be in your first year (just your first year on the committee) but it is a great chance to learm more about what goes on 'behind the scenes'. If you want to know more about what's involved talk to last years first year reps, Reg, Becky and Lisa, or Ed and myself, who were isrt year reps the year before.
All you need to do is come along to Cafe mambo this Thursday 6th November at 7.30, for some yummy cocktails, and food available from their amazing Mexican style menu. If you don't want to stand, come along anyway and enjoy the food and drink, and support those who do.
One more thing, just to remind everyone about the final charity pub quiz taking place this Wednesday 5th November in the Brunswick pub from 8.30pm. From previous experience of these quizzes organised by Tracy and Anouska, much fun will be had, and there's the added entertainment of Anouska's sponsored silence!!! Please go along and support this worthy cause.
Ok, that's all for this week, have fun whatever you're up to, hope to see you soon!
Sarah :)
