Hi all,
If anyone would like to come this weekend we have one space available due
to someone falling ill. The weather forecast looks good and it should be a
wonderful weekend. Please reply to this email if you are interested.
Meet between the Union buildings at 5.30pm tonight.
See below for itinery and equipment list - little more than normal walking
kit required.
Thanks,
Martin
Hi Everyone,
A quick email detailing plans for the weekend and anything in particular
you need to bring.
Meet on Campus between the Union buildings at 5.30. Aim to leave soon
after 6pm. We will be going in one minibus (12/13 people plus kit) and
one car (3/4 people plus kit) - Jeni I am assuming you or Chris are happy
to drive?
Friday:
Travel up to Rhayader, probably stopping briefly in Llandovery for a fish
& chip shop. Aim to arrive at the barn around 8.30pm. Please bring money
for the chip shop/food for the journey/ food to cook on arrival.
Nothing is planned for the rest of Friday evening bar socialising and
settling in. Bring alcohol if you would like.
Saturday:
Food needed for Breakfast.
Drive to Elan valley. Circular walk about 7-8 miles, mainly flat. Plenty
of Photo opportunities. Don't forget food for lunch.
Evening - Cook at the barn or walk the 2 miles into Rhayader for a pub
dinner before coming back under the stars :D If you are short of supplies
there is a good sized Spar in Rhayader and cash machines.
Sunday:
Food needed for breakfast.
Clear barn, pack minibus and Drive to Walk 2 - probably a little further
away. A similar walk to Day one but in a different location.
Drive back to Swansea direct from walk two. Aiming to arrive back around
7-7.30pm.
>Kit:
The barn has all bedding provided so sleepingbags/mats are not required.
It also has ensuite bathrooms with showers, a good kitchen with
grill/microwave/oven/kettle/pans/cutlery.
To Bring:
Walking equipment - boots/waterproofs/normal sunday walking gear.
Camera!!
Change of shoes for the barn.
Food for snacks on the journey/breakfasts/lunch/dinner Saturday if you are
cooking.
Money for supplies/Sat dinner/Friday dinner.
Any drinks you may require (I think the barn had tea and coffee last year).
Night/Wash kit & towel.
CDs for playing in the barn or bus.
If you have any queries at all, please get in touch (chair at hiking.org.uk
or phone me on 07812 681260)
Cheers,
